The working principle of v groove pulley

Being among the disc hub type parts, pulleys are relatively large in size and take casting and forging as the major manufacture technics. The pulley is used to increase adhesion.

Groove-shaped pulley: the circumference of the wheel is provided with a wave ring groove, and the belt is installed in the wave ring groove and is bent into a wave state, so a lateral additional wrap angle and mutual circumferential direction force should be formed in the wave groove, which increases the transmission capacity and prevents slippage. It is especially suitable for the transmission of power by equipment operating in open air and harsh environments.

The engine pulley is used to transmit power. It transmits the power output from the crankshaft to the air conditioner compressor, power steering pump, water pump, generator, etc.

The wheels used to install various belts (flat belts, V belts are also called V-belts, V-ribbed belts, round belts, toothed belts, etc.) are called belt pulleys. The function of the pulley is to transmit torque and movement through the transmission belt. It is mainly used for change the speed, which means that the small wheel can reduce the speed with the big wheel; it can also be used to change the direction of rotation, such as cross belt transmission.
